Yup that's right. Here is two AND three. I hope you enjoy! Part 2Our Airbnb host took us around Le Diamant to explore the bird view, the Anse Cafard Slave Memorial, and a few other treasured spots. Since we didn't have a car it was great to be able to go to these spots and see more than we would have walking. We also found a secret spot the first day. Our Airbnb: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/17761008... Part 3Our first time spending our entire day on the beach. We walked about 30 minutes to get to this location from our AirBnB. Stopping at the EcoMax to get libations beforehand. I absolutely looooved putting this video together. There is so much that didn't make it to this final cut. But this trip was so amazing. If you have never taken a vacation, I highly recommend it. Enjoy!
We booked this hostel through HostelWorld.com and it is a great site for those who are looking to stay somewhere for a great price and meet people. For us we booked a three bed, private hostel room since there were just three of us traveling and we didn't want to worry about our bags, but there are options to accommodate every type of traveler.
Join us as we make our way from St. Louis to New York. I know Brooklyn is a borough, but it is the borough we traveled to this go round before heading to Martinique. Plus this one we went to see some attractions that we missed on other trips. Join us on our journey as we do what we love... Be silly, travel, and eat!
Highlights: Staten Island Ferry, Charging Bull, and the food! *I do not own the music rights!* Join us as we make our way from St. Louis to New York. Highlights: NY Moore Hostel, OMG Pizza, and the city never sleeps! *Music Rights are not mine* I'm in New York!! Like actual New York. Truth be told I WAS in NY, but then I had to go home soooo here's a review of that trip. NY is my third home. My first is with God (a place isn't my home, it's the people awww), the second is London (one day boo), and the third is New York. Picture a cute New York picture... Bada bing, bada boom. We spent our time in Brooklyn at the NY Moore Hostel booked through www.hostelworld.com/ It was a fantastic place to stayed filled with art by local artist or visiting artist. They even let us know that you could get a deal (if you're good) if you do some artwork for them which I think is pretty genius. I will be doing a vlog of the hostel at some point. (Give me a moment, that requires way more time then a simple type up.) While there, my bro and I realized that New York wasn't going to change us. It did however compliment our lifestyles. We could take our much needed nap and then wake up at midnight on a Sunday night and still be able to go out and get things done. It was beautiful.
I love my family. It's not traditional. Everyone isn't related by blood. But as they say, "We're thicker than blood." Family is important to me. More important than I used to care to admit because it made holidays and celebrations hard with the absence of my mom. This year my heart was warm. I woke around noon to the sound of my roommates voice, snickered as I listened to calls with relatives (thin walls), and realized I had no coconut milk for my sweet potatoes!! I rushed to call my God-brother and the day was set into motion. It was filled with good food, laughter, and nice walks down memory lane. Needless to say I got the coconut milk. Then spent the day not at all how I planned it. I planned to be in bed with my Sims game until I got up to cook, but my second God-brother came into town. (A good excuse to get up I think) We ended up at house #1 where Momma scolded me for not visiting more (with the biggest smile) and gave me a good hug. Then to house #2 where Mama made a feast and played games with us. Our families. Our (feels all of the things) But it was more than feelings. It was ordained. I could clearly see the imprint God had put on all of our lives. From the streets we prayed in as teens to being three (technically there is four of us) on fire kids of Christ to being adults who are steadily fulfilling our purpose to paths we were called to long ago. It's nice. Being with my family. After experiencing years of grief and heartbreak I take the little things serious. The well wishes that seem so trivial can make someones holiday even if it's a mass text. Most times I know that little extra can mean all the more so I tag a personal touch sometimes. It's so easy to be swept into holiday depression. To feel over it. After all, people should care all year right? But this year I took note that where my blood family failed or were absent, God gave me two fold. It's taken awhile for me to get past the sadness and honestly I haven't made it past Christmas yet, but for now I'm looking beyond how I feel. The facts are this Thanksgiving was gooood. It makes me really look forward to spending Christmas in TN with my blood relatives. (Praying and knowing it'll all work out this year) Once again I find myself #Grateful and thankful this year. Where are we going? To New York and Martinique What is Martinique? A French Caribbean island Who is this we? My brother, friend, and I. It’s like Three Company (am I showing my age), but better. Why do we care? It is our first adult vacay (for no reason other than to go) and it’s my birthday!! Did you use a travel agency? Nope. I just love traveling and planned it with good ole google and suggestions from expert travellers. How lame is it to say, "Those that can't do, teach"? More like those that can, do, and will of course teach. Teaching is sharing the knowledge you already possess with others. I’m the biggest fan of always taking the opportunity to pass knowledge I have, but also taking opportunities to gain new knowledge. We are always learners in this here life. So here is a poem that I did during my workshop. I am open to any feedback you have or just thoughts. (No pressure) *bites lips* Now I have to make sure this poem is halfway decent. Kids Being Kids
Fire hydrants spraying Roller-blading Arm wrestling In shorts and white T’s Chasing ice cream trucks And neighborhood cats Hopscotching on cracked sidewalks With grass coming out Hand games and water guns Hot pickles in sandwich bags We friendship bracelets We rolling hills We first bikes and rollerblades We double bubble and winterfresh We sunflower seed spit We fist fights and play fights And get off my block My turf My neighborhood With all your newness We block party We out till the streetlights turn on We notice how many of us Don’t make it to tomorrow But today we holding on Sneaking cigarette butts to pass That we will crush Cuz’ it don’t fit Like the death we wait for |
